Cool Sweepings

Chris, a young Jamaican-Canadian man in Winnipeg, juggles low-wage jobs while helping his father keep the family’s struggling curling rink alive. When foreclosure threatens their community gathering place, Chris and his friends—Denny, Fillmore and DJ Nate set their sights on a bonspiel offering a $50,000 grand prize. With little curling experience, limited resources and everything to lose, their journey brings chaotic fundraising schemes, training mishaps and fierce rivalries. With help from Kyra, a reluctant former curling champion, they discover the power of teamwork, resilience and believing in one another. Blending comedy, drama, music and Caribbean culture, Cool Sweepings celebrates friendship, family and finding a place on the ice.
